Hi, could use some help with this! Some of my piped icing cracks apart and falls off when the cake is cut and served (so far just for fun cakes), is this natural or am I doing something wrong? icon_sad.gif Janice

Hmmmmm.....maybe your icing is too stiff?

I found that only happened with me was when I used Wilton decorating icing. It hasn't happened since.

Well, it didn't seem to be too stiff when I was piping it... it worked well, and it was fresh, and not Wilton. I guess it isn't such a big deal, but it just looks messy when it starts falling off the cake like that!

Thanks for your responses, I'd just like to get some of these problems worked out before I start to bake and decorate for customers. icon_redface.gif

Thanks again, Janice
