Hello Kate! I've had your site bookmarked for at least three months! I have often wondered what your technique is to creating the wysterias, as I cannot find them ANYWHERE! Can you please help me? As always, your cakes are BEAUTIFUL!

Thanks! I've seen wysteria done different ways. I do mine like an upside down rosebud. I start at the bottom of the spray of wysteria and with a rose tip do squiggly rosebud kinda flowers and pile them up. I couldn't find directions for them the first time I had to do them so just kind of winged it. I'm working with my tip turned the opposite direction of what you would usually have it so that the tip is facing the table. I'm not so good at putting directions on paper so I hope you can visualize what I mean. If not yell at me and I'll try to clarify icon_biggrin.gif

Upside down sweet pea is actually a good description for it. I need to look at real wysteria to get it perfected. Every time I do this cake it changes a little icon_biggrin.gif

here's a picture of wisteria I found online. It is related to the sweet pea, I didn't know that. I've been spelling it wrong too icon_redface.gif

Kate,
The sweet pea is the ONLY flower I have mastered since my Wilton I course icon_cry.gif so I should be semi successful with the wysteria. Thanks so much for all of your help-I REALLY APPRECIATE IT! icon_wink.gif

Kate; I have to say your cakes are absolutely beautiful!!! Wow! I hope to get to that degree of "Excellence"! But for now, I'm happy with what I do, and I always learn more as they happen with room for improvement.

thanks tc! The Queen found it for me. I wish I was on the beach too. It's been ugly here today, rainy and flooding. I stopped for now, but it's suppose to continue later and tommorow. Maybe I can go somewhere ( I wish). I'm going home to Boston in a couple of weeks and it will be more of the same icon_mad.gif . Oh well, I'll see my family so that was important.

BTW, how are you doing. Anymore test scheduled?
