Does royal icing go bad, and if so how long can you store it and still use it?

Thanks

I have some that I made about a month ago. It still smells fine, and looks fine, except that it's started to separate. If I put it back in the mixer and beat it for a while will it be ok?

Thanks!
Laura.

According to Wilton, it is good for two weeks sitting out on the cabinet. Of course you have many on here that can tell you from their personal experince they it can be kept longer or kept in the fridge or freezer.

It does tend to separate, so that isn't a sign of it being bad. Just give it a quick mix and it should be fine.

Thanks! I'll go ahead and use it then.

Laura.
