EDITED TO SAY: SEE TIP ABOUT THIS TIP BELOW!!!!

Hi Every1!!

I just made some cake balls and decided to give something a try. I put a cookie sheet down on the counter and placde a tall container (8 inches tall) at each corner. I then set my cooling rack on top of the containers so it was centered above the cookie sheet. I made them as usual...formed the balls, put a toothpick in the center and froze them solid. As I dipped my cake balls into the melted almond bark, I placed them toothpick down onto the cooling rack. By the time I finished it looked like a bunch of little lollipops we hanging there. When the they had set for a bit, I pulled out the toothpicks. They were still a little frozen so I had to use a little pressure. The cake balls were perfect on top....gone was the little swirl where I usually covered the toothpick hole!!! They look perfect!!

People may already know to do that, but I just thought of it and thought I'd share for those who don't It makes a big difference!!!

BTW, where are the pictures you may ask....we wanna see.....well, talk to my 4 kids who did not by any means drop my digital camera and break the display....they did not try to hide it and make me think I had mearly lost it..... icon_twisted.gif They would never do that......

No worries I talked to Santa and he assured me I had been good and would be bringing me a new one. icon_biggrin.gif

Happy Holidays!!!!!

Berta, great tip, thanks! I have been putting a Christmas decoration in the top to hide the toothpick whole.

Santa, thought I had been good too. I got my digital camera last night. Santa must be getting near sighted in his old age, because he isn't catching me be bad as often as he once did. LOL

or you can do what I did...invest in the $3 plastic candy dipping set (-40% off coupon of course).

no holes at all then or balls falling off the toothpick.

Here is a tip for my tip.....

I just did another batch.....cover the cooling rack with wax paper....then there is no need for the cookie sheet below, and they won't stick....much easier!

Doug...did you get that at Hobby Lobby? How does it work? I will stick to my method for now because it's raining and cold but I might go out in a few days.

I got the set at A.C. Moore. They're about 20% less at normal retail there than at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. And the set is not by Wilton, but by Make N' Mold. It's a 3-piece set: fork, oval, and a grid for really small stuff.

(edited spelling/grammar, of course.....some one should have stopped Noah Webster!)
