For those of you who buy fillings rather then make them, is there any place online that you could recomeend. I can't get any in the city I live in.
I am thinking bavarian creme.
TIA

to be honest--unless you are totally desparate, I would avoid using a "bought" filling. They have an "artifical" taste and over just gross, IMOl

I was wondering about that, that's why I was trying to get some imput, I don't need it until January 27th, so I'll probably try a few recipes and see how it goes! I just thought it might be easier to use one already made.

I bought some CK products bavarian cream just to give it a try, but I was somewhat disappointed. It tasted like instant vanilla pudding. It wasn't bad just not what I expected...I could have made instant pudding myself for much cheaper icon_smile.gif . I know lots of people buy from them and enjoy it. www.countrykitchensa.com if you don't have a tax id # and www.ckproducts.com if you do.

I buy the prepackaged fillings from Kitchenkrafts.com they have the lowest shipping to me. And also I received one puch broken when it arrived, called them and they had a new one sent out to me that same day.... so great customer service also!!! sometimes that is all it takes to get me as a customer.

Some people buy prepackaged fillings, as they don't need refridgeration, and hold up well for weddings and such, where cakes set out for long periods of time. I personally have never used them, but I have heard good comments on them. When it is very hot I think they would work great because, you don't have to worry about them spoiling, as you would puddings, and some other fillings, but as I said I personally have not used them.

I buy the CK products brand fillings...there are lots of flavors to choose from, taste delicious and don't have to be refrigerated!

I recently bought some bavarian creme filling at my local cake supply store, and used it for the Christmas cakes I made for gifts for my husband's co-workers, and for my co-workers - and everyone raved about the filling! icon_biggrin.gif
It was very easy to use. It came in a bag, much like a very large icing bag. I only had to cut off a corner to use it! Simple - a wonderful idea for someone like me who has to work a full-time job and only has a few hours a week to enjoy my "hobby"! thumbs_up.gif
By the way - I have already received orders for 6 cakes from the "gift" cakes I made! Whoo hoo!

I buy all my fillings no refridgeration. I always add a bit of flavoring to boost them up a bit!!!! No waste, they easily freeze until next time, no spoiage, and the are all delicious. I use the raspberry, cherry and the strawberry in my swirl flavored cakes, yummy! The cream cheese does have a hint of artificial taste, I add some almond extract, it hides that, you can use it in your buttercream icing and you don't have to refridgerate!
