This year I decided to make candy for my husbands co workers and for a few neighbors as well as family coming in for Christmas. Normally I do cookies and stuff, but since I also have a few parties this week and next week where I have to bring dessert I figures candy was easier. Being as this is my first year making homemade candy I went to a local cake/candy store and took a free class that they were offering. I figured why pass up an opportunity to learn something new and free was even better.

Well, my kitchen and dining room has turned into Willie Wonka's Chocolate Factory...or so it seems. I have been making candy since about 7:00 this evening with a few breaks here and there to get my kids to bed. So far I have 3 lbs Chocolate Fudge, 5 lbs White Chocolate Cheesecake Fudge, 6 lbs of Peppermint Bark, 1 1/2 lbs Nut Clusters, 4 lbs Rocky Road Candy, started making Chocolate Covered Cherries, and I am about to start 3 lbs of Peanut Butter cups. Thats only for tonight. I still have more to go tomorrow.

This is actually very relaxing though (overwhelming but relaxing) and seems to be going very quickly. Although I just decided to take a break and see what is happening here on CC. Since I know that there is always someone on and something happening I figured that I could hop on here and see what everyone else is doing tonight?

You're amazing! I tried my hand at truffles a couple days ago, only to decide it wasn't worth the effort to me. I need to make friends with someone who does this sort of thing so I can get on the gift list reap the rewards of someone else's hard work! Way to go!

Wow you were very busy. I didn't make anything last night, after getting 4 hours of sleep the last three nights i just wanted a night off.
Could you please post the recipe for the white chocolate cheesecake fudge? That sounds so yummy!
Good luck making the rest.
