Actually, I think it's adorable. I was thinking it may be nice to take a cake for the parents at my son's preschool party. Would you mind telling me how you made the decorations? Of course I've never made a fondant bow and I'm a little nervous about that. Anyway, if you care to share I appreciate it. Thanks!
SURE! I'd love to share: The bow: I rolled out red MMF and cut them into four strips. The first two were for the loops, so I rolled them around an icecream scooper and let them harden there(any cylinder shaped thing will do). The other two strips were for the other part (the strings that hang from the loops--what do you call that part? ). I just put a spoon under the ends of the strips to give it the "arched" look towards the end. Sorry, I hope I'm not being confusing. I let the fondant sit for maybe 4 hours or so to harden. The wreath was just a bunch of different "patterns". Parts of it were with the #352 tip, and parts of it were with the #70 ( I think) tip. There are poinsettias (made with the #70 leaf tip, as well) and then there were just random "vine" things with red and yellow dots on them. Maybe these close-up pictures will help. If it's confusing just ask, I'll try to clarify!
ccsweetness, I think your cake is BEAUTIFUL! Besides the wreath and bow looking perfect, your writing is so good! GREAT JOB!
Thanks, y'all! Lenette~ I hope everything goes well! Make sure you post your picture when it's finished!!
