Help I Cant Find Meringue Poweder For My Icing

icon_sad.gif Hello all you experts out there, for some reason I cant find pasteurized meringue powder, and I refuse to use Wilton since it tastes awfull so can you give me an option I am afraid of using egg white if so what is the safe way to use it, the icing needs to be able to bag it, etc thanks so much I am desperate since I have christmas cookie orders

I have used a cookie icing with egg whites and never had any trouble. I remember using one that used corn syrup that dried hard and shiney. I did a search of cookie icings and used that one because I had all the ingredients. Maybe someone else can help...you might check out Antonia74's cookie icing...it is listed in the article section. icon_smile.gif

Have you tried the pasteurized egg whites? I have used them on icings like Italian Meringue and its wonderful!

They also sell them in powdered form at the regular grocery store.
