I am giving my cousin a babyshower in February, I am doing the lunchin, the cake, the cookies and the decorations. I also work full time and have a 18 month daughter. I don't want to be stressed at the last minute trying to get everything done.

I was wondering how early can I make the cookies and freeze them?
How early can I make the cake and freeze it?
How early can I make the foundant babies? or the marizpan babies?

Ok, I'm not gonna be any help on the fondant question..

Cookies I've frozen for 2 weeks. I wrapped them individually in saran wrap and then loaded them into foil, wrapped tightly..whalah! I'm pretty sure cookies can be frozen up to 2 months? Someone correct me if I'm wrong..but I'm pretty sure that's it. Cookies would never last that long at my house anyway.

As far as the cake..only speaking from personal experience, I've never frozen a cake for more than 6 days. I personally don't think too far ahead of time and end up doing it all in 3 days anyways. But I'm sure they last quite a bit longer than 6 days. I know we saved our top tier and ate it on our one year anniversary..although my husband put it in a cooler on our way to the beach, and water got in it..ugh..not yummy at ALL!

You can make the cakes and freeze them now! Honestly, I froze a cake for 4 months, just to experiment, and it was as fresh as the day I put it in the freezer. I wrap the cakes in foil and then put in a zipper type bag and freeze. I've never frozen cookies but I know my press cookies stay fresh for a few weeks. The fondant figures can be made well in advance with not worries!

Thanks, I think I will start making the cakes after the first of the year. I want to make farm animals out of foundant when can I start them?
