I just tried it and love it, it's resting in my KA, very fluffy super white and delicious. I did few changes and flavored it with amaretto lorann oil it tastes fabulous thank you for this great recipe.

Other than flavoring, what were the changes that you made? Just curious.

I replaced 1/2 cup of crisco with butter and I skiped the granulated sugar and used just the powdered sugar the recipe called for, I mixed the dry ingredients (powdered sugar instead of granulated) poured the hot water on it and followed the rest of directions.

It doesn't have the pipping consistency it's more like a fluffy airy buttercream I used it for filling but there's a good crusting cream I used for the same cake and got it from this site it's the Crusting cream cheese frosting tastes very good and economical too compared to the swiss meringue I used to use.

I'm sorry I don't understand what do you mean by staring. I don't do buttercream pipping I only work with gumpaste or fondant, maybe someone else could share their experience with pipping using this cream.

I'm pretty sure cakesbycham meant "starring". Like using the star tip to fill in areas.
