I tried to be a low-maintenance beer drinkin' gal (as my friends put it) but I just never could get a taste for it! icon_lol.gif

I must say though, it does go good in a pot of chilli, about 1/2 to 3/4 of a bottle.

Oh, dear, kind Squirrelly I have to say no to your more than generous offer!!

Ok, heehee, I have to admit I am a Florida cracker, born and raised here. To me, getting cold here means down in the 30's-40's at night! I don't do the cold very well! icon_lol.gif vitade-where are you? And I'm not sure I want to visit!!

Hhmn, too bad there is no "chicken" emoticon, haha! You folks in Florida, now don't go messing with the weather, don't want the price of those Florida oranges going too high, now do we, haha!

I'm in Michigan, and it's been really cold this week. With the wind chill it's been REALLY cold. I was born and raised here but still don't like the cold. I remember we went to Arizona once, during their "winter" and some folks were wearing sweaters, it was sorta funny. Wow, 30 is colder than I even thought it got there. It doesn't snow there does it?

It snowed one time when I was a little girl ('76, I think) and it was just a bit on the ground but we had a ball! It does get to freezing at times here and the farmers have to go crazy watching over the oranges and in Feb. the strawberries are getting ready to come in. My uncle recently moved to Traverse City and he was telling us they had like 2-3 ft of snow. That's a icon_eek.gif to me!!
That's the one good thing-it doesn't stay too cold for too long here!

lol, just saw the weather, they have posted a storm warning for my area for this evening. Could get 3 to 6 inches. The kids will love that! I used to live near Detroit but moved further west last year. Traverse City is about 3 hours. It's pretty there.

You know you folks in Michigan get so much snow sometimes, I think you might qualify to be Canucks, haha! I used to love travelling through Michigan, the people were always so darn friendly. Some pretty darn good restaurants too, I remember!

Update.. well the weatherman was finally right. Just by looking out the window, I'd say we have atleast 6 inches. Haven't checked the news yet but I'm sure today will be a snow day for the kids.

SquirrellyCakes, I still don't think we get as much snow as I remember when I was a kid but it's still very cold. There are some great restaurants around, but since having the little ones, I'm TOTALLY out of the loop!!

Well, you got more than we did, mind you it is snowing today - very pretty says me sitting inside with a hot cup of coffee, haha! You do get out of the loop when you have children, that is true, but it is worth it!

Officially the news states we received 7.8". Wow, that was fast too, it didn't even start snowing till about 7 last night and was ending early this morning, like 5. Funny, the only thing I miss from my "pre" childern days is alittle me time.

I bet you do! You go from one extreme to another, when they head off for college or go out on their own.
You got a good dumping of snow!

It is so true with the little ones! Have you guys seen the movie Christmas Story? In one scene the young boy narrator says "my mother for herself has not had a hot meal in over 10 years" as the mom is dishing out to everyone else's plate, trying to get the little one to eat, running around the kitchen, etc. It's a great holiday movie!

That is so true, most especially when the children are infants or toddlers! Yum, cold mashed potatoes in cold gravy, haha!
