What is the best icing to use to keep icing flowers on. I seem to always have trouble with them falling off. I usually make royal icing flower and stick them on buttercream with buttercream icing. What else can I do?

That should be working I just make a leaf with the buttercream and it holds the flower fine. you can try royal icing for a firmer hold.

Are your flowers large and heavy and on the side of your cake???? you could try putting them on a skewer and sticking it in the cake side for support.

I think stiff BC won't hold as well as medium, so check your icing consistency. You can also try using piping gel. It's REALLY sticky!

Hello there I dissolve about 3 small pea size pieces of fondant in 1 egg white, takes a couple of hours but makes a super edible glue. Can be used to stick flowers on to fondant iced or royal iced cakes. Don't know about buttercream but dont see why not. I use a small artists brush, you don't need too much thumbs_up.gif [/b]

Welcome to Cakecentral lalalady!

Piping gel is great for attaching flowers and things!
