I need to make a bear bride and groom for a wedding cake. Am I best to make the beears then dress them or dress them when I make them? if that makes sense so should I make the suit arms as the arms of the groom or make an arm and then cover it with black after to make the suit sleeve?

thanks!

Hi, I would make the bears first, then dress them - same as normal bride & groom toppers icon_biggrin.gif

I think the way you'd make fondant people would be the same as making FIMO (polymer) clay characters... when I was doing clay, I always made the parts that had clothes out of the color the clothes were...

example- Santa Clause torso, arms and legs were out of red - feet were out of black - head and hands were out of peach - then added the white on top of all for hair and fur accents.

I would think it'd be easier to make a grooms body out of black (if the tux was black) than to make it "flesh" and have to wrap black around that.

But, I always seem to take the easy way out - and have never tried "making clothes"...

Just my humble two cents icon_rolleyes.gif

Edited because I found a picture...

Aine2 is the best at making fondant figures. I pm'd her for some hints and she was very gracious to help me. I am working on them now and i think they are turning out really cute, with thanks to her!
