I am currently at the stages of writing a business plan to start my dessert/cake decorating business. Unfortunately, I am currently out of the states and will be for the next two years. Does anyone know of any good websites where I can get information for my bplan? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

The Small Business Administration has some great pages. Here is the starting page of the planning section. Use the toolbar on the left to navigate into the "writing the plan" section for an outline.

Good luck! thumbs_up.gif

I'm not sure exactly what kind of business you're planning, but Amazon.com has tons of useful resources. The "Everything Home-Based Business Book" has chapters where it walks you through each section of your business plan, with examples of how it applies to different types of businesses. Shirley Frazier has a home gift basket business book where she offers lots of logistical advice about setting up the business end. I'm sure there are many others if you comb the reviews . . . Good luck with your planning!

I looked on teh microsoft template area. under business and then plans I think. They have a great article, I will try to attach (since it is free from them anyhoo!). I just changed the sections to meet my needs. It is kind of involved...butyou can take ffrom it the format, or jsut the formulas or whatever.

Good luck. Mine is short and to the point, but it really helped me focus.

FYI there are also other templates there like for budgeting, marketing, etc. check it out. They have format in them, but also tips on how to establish information particular to you.
