My mom baked each of her kids' 1st birthday cake in a 5 in. diameter Crisco can that she had cut down to about 2 in. high. We each had our "own" cake to smear everywhere--oops, I meant "to eat"!!! (Gosh, did I just tell my age?
The cans are all cardboard now!)
We've still got that "pan" & I've even used it to bake the top layer on one of my parents' anniversary cakes.
