I don't have heavy cream at home and need to get this cake done today. Has anyone ever tried it using canned milk or regular milk for that matter?

I read in one of the other forums that someone used 2% milk and it turned out okay (with no other substitutions). I guess that you could try the canned milk (not sweetened condensed, it will be too sweet) and see how it works.

Thanks Mchelle! I didn't want to try it without first hearing from someone. Limited supplies here and don't want to go out in the rain! I appreciate the sub list, too!

Me too! I'm always missing something and hate running to the store more than once. I'm learning the tricks though.
