Hey Girl,

Since neither one of us checks the business forum much I thought I'd write you on General...

I think Tammy had an ok here at Barksdale AFB to do cakes on base. I'm not sure. I'll have to ask her. I know she did them icon_lol.gif . I'll find out.

YES!!!! Me & Tammy would love to open up a bakery!! But with her hubby still being active duty they wouldn't be stationed here very long. I have no idea where their going after they finish their tour in England. My hubby is AF Reserves/civil service so he only goes away when they activate/deploy the squadron. GO 917TH!!!! usaribbon.gif I keep my happy self right here! Again, that is a dream of mine that me & Tammy will open a bakery! She has a friend who does cakes too & she's great! We could all go in together. But for now I will keep it a dream.. it just might come true one day!!

Talk to you later~ ~Tina~ icon_smile.gif

I would, but a small one, like a second kitchen attached to my house... and not just cakes, either, but all sorts of funky yummy pastries, flavored with all sorts of weird things like green tea and floral essences.

Yeah, I'm as odd as three penguins in an elephant pen. icon_smile.gif

I would love to open a small business from my home. But that is only a dream for me now too. Have to wait until hubby finishes school and we buy our own house. We have to be careful around here with running a business out of a rental property because depending on the circumstances the landlord could take a certain percentage of your profits, yuch and no thanks. thumbsdown.gif

I would love to have my own business also, in the garage. I would love to be able to be home when the kids get out of school. Within 5 years, I'm gonna do it! At least I hope to.

I would also love to own an at home bakery. I currently live in an apartment so unfortunately I have to wait until I can buy a house. I'm working on buying a house with a basement this year so I can turn my basement into a bakery. I'm very anxious especially since my clientel/customer base is increasing.

Flayvurdfun: There's a company called Monin that makes flavored syrups (like Torani) and what's completely awesome is that they have rose, violet, jasmine, and lavender flavored syrups... and the colors are oh-so-gorgeous...

*drools* This is why my friends call me a cake whore, and I accept the title with pride! icon_biggrin.gif

These are the kind of flavored/colored sugar syrups that you can put in coffee, make italian sodas with, and so on... you can see what Monin has at http://www.moninstore.com/

Since they're so sugary, putting them *in* the cake or frosting probably would not be a good idea, but they're just like the simple syrups that get put on cakes anyway, so poking/soaking the cake before it's filled & frosted might be the best way to use them. Their sugar-free ones might work in cake batter, though.

I'm still waiting for someone to make a chai syrup instead of a chai tea concentrate so I can make a poked cake. (Maybe if I mixed the concentrate with powdered milk for the taste, and then used butter, dumping it into the cake batter... hmm.)

HI.i would love to have my own business.but most of the cakes i make are with licensed pans and you can't sell them.the ones i make with my other pans people around here don't want to pay $20.00 for a fresh cake.bake and iced the same day thy pick it up .thy would rather go to wal-mart and buy one that has been there for a week and sometimes longer. none of my family or friends would buy those nasty cakes.all thy have to do is call good ole Brenda 3 day before thy need it an it ready.aint i a nice person icon_lol.gificon_wink.gif

You all have the same dream I have! Isn't that so cool!! I would only want to open a bakery IF I had a few other people to go in w/ me. And we would do all the work. But I would really like to turn my dining room into a 2nd kitchen! I have a very large dining room that connects to the hallway & the livingroom. All we'd have to do is wall it up & put I door near the hallway! Take the carpet out, put a oven, icebox, sink & some counters & WALA!!!!! OH, I can see it, I really can!!!! Haven't told my hubby that yet! He wouldn't like that dream.. especially right now w/ all these tests I'm having. It never hurts to dream!!!! SO DREAM BIG!!!!!!!
