Cream Cheese Frosting - Chocolate Flavor ????
Decorating By SUGARMAMA Updated 21 Nov 2005 , 7:25pm by SUGARMAMA
I'm going to try the crusting cream cheese recipe I found here. Can chocolate be added to the cream cheese ? I'm going to make a friend a chocolate cake with raspberry filling and I'd like to use cream cheese frosting and top it with sugared grapes.
Any ideas????
Hi SUGARMAMA, Not sure where you are, but here in Canada, we have chocolate cream cheese (Brand is Lantancia). Just came out within the past few months, if you could get ahold of that it would solve your problem.
Never tried the crusting Cream cheese, but I could not see why you could not add chocolate to it.
I have the Cake Mix Doctor cookbook. There are 2 recipes in it for a variation of Choc-Cream cheese frosting.
The first one is called Cinnamon-Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting, it calls for 1/2 cup Dutch processed unsweetened cocoa powder, to an 8oz. pkg of cream cheese.
The second recipe is for White-Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting and it calls for 6oz. white chocolate (coarsely chopped) to an 8oz. pkg cream cheese.
HTH! If you need either recipe, just PM me and I can email it to you!

I just had to look up the crusting cream cheese frosting recipe, while looking I happened to notice there are 2 chocolate cream cheese frosting listed in the recipes here!
I checked the recipe section for crusting cream cheese frosting. I guess I could try the non crusting chocolate cream cheese. Thanks !!
