I made a Wilton Chocolate Cookie recipe from one of the old yearbooks and it was AWFUL!!!!!! It was dry, crumbly and tasted awful...It called for 2 3/4 cups flour and 3/4 cup sugar, which I think was not a good ratio.

I'm making this in the shell pan to make the Thanksgiving Turkey cake.
Can I use the chocolate cookie recipe from Kitchengifts and put it in this pan and bake as one big cookie??? This is the first time I've done a giant cookie and I want this to turn out good, it's for a friend's daughter.

Can anyone HELP me!!!??? Please and Thanks in advance.

Cindy

the awful one? I am thinking of doing the Tollhouse Pan Cookie recipe and adding Cocoa to it. Do you have any idea how much and do I need to change anything else to compensate for the extra dry ingredient???

I was hoping you would post The ingredients so I could tell if the dryness was due to The recipe.

The recipe I used is:

3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/3 cocoa

It was just awful!!!!

cindy6250...I have always had luck with the Tollhouse recipe. I have made several cookie cakes in many different pans. I have never had a problem with it not coming out just right. Not to mention...everyone loved that recipe. icon_smile.gif

Thanks Traci,

I called their toll free number and they advised on how to make them chocolate with the chips. I have got to get this done tonight because I go for my try out to apprentice for a pastry chef tomorrow and I have school tonight (and a test)...No rest for the weary!!!

I have used a recipe with similar proportions before and it never turned out crumbly. The only think I could think of is. Use a little less flour. If you Are rolling them out do it between wax paper. Make sure you are using large eggs. Or get a new recipe LOL...

Does it have A bitter taste?

You should have asked me for the recipe. It can also be found on the tollhouse bag of chocolate chips. Good luck with your cookie cake....and your test. icon_wink.gif
