I think I ran into every problem possible...although many of them were my own doing!
I should have made the image ahead of time, but that didn't work out. Anyway, after getting help from nice people here on CC; we were ready to go. I have an IP6000, and found a dirt bike picture like the lady wanted. We blew it up and printed it. The only problem was that it came out too blue. The photo editor program I have on my laptop is not a very good one, and options to edit are limited. We have another program that is better than the one I was using, and we will install it and try that one.
I have a lot to do to learn to use this thing to it's potential, but I think it will be a really fun experience. The cake I did ended up fine..which satisfied me under the circumstances. But I aspire to greater things!

Thank you to those who helped me. I really appreciate you guys.

The more you use your printer the more comfortable you will be. I had a star wars image that somehow came out green but I was able to coordinate my borders and used it anyway.

Another thing I like to do is print out a coloring page or clipart...cut it out...and then trace it and fill it in with colors. For me...this is easier than doing a BCT.

I have the ip3000 and just love it. icon_smile.gif

I have an i350 I bought ages ago and it's still going strong. The only time I had a problem with colors not printing true was when the kids had messed with the printer settings. It took me forever to figure out what was wrong and it was as simple as setting my printer back to default settings. Red can be trouble sometimes so if I'm printing an image that has a lot of red, I print a tiny little copy of it on regular paper just to make sure the red is the exact shade I want.

On thing that's important to know about the 6000 is that it's a 6 cartridge printer. 2 are photo cartridges and you shouldn't print at photo quality when printing edible images. You'll actually only be using 4 of the 6 cartridges.

Lisa, that's a good point. That's why I considered another printer, but that one didn't work out. I will have to practice, practice, practice..which actually sounds like a lot of fun!
I will check those printer settings..I had forgotten about that.
