Hi,

I'm hoping someone will have an idea for me. I'm thinking of doing my final Course III cake (fondant & stacked) with the tile design of the "Dad" cake on p. 22 of this year's Wilton Yearbook. It'll be light brown fondant and then tiles in Thanksgiving/Fall colors.

My question is about a bottom border - I don't know which one to use. I think it's got to be very small and almost nothing at all, but I think I at least need one on the top layer to hide where it sits on the bottom layer. Is it possible/likely that I'll be able to just pipe a tip 3 or so line around it?

Thank you very much!!!
Christy

Great question, sorry I can't help--but I'm bumping you up and hopefully someone will give you an answer. Good luck! You're very ambitious!

THe wedding cake I did this weekend had a tip 3 around the base (also had ribbon) but I think with fondant a 3 would do very well.

The tip #3 should be fine..you could do a "shell" type border or even a "dot" type border that tip!
