I have just gotten into doing cakes and I was wondering if there is some sort of "standard pricing sheet" to go by. I did see the pricing matrix thread, but it wouldn't let me open it. Came up as an error.

For example, what would one charge for this..

Thanks!!!

First let me welcome you to cakecentral!

Second, I love your cake..the colors are nice and bright!

One way of pricing your cakes is to do the "3x times" method. Take the cost of everything that it takes to make, decorate and package your cake and then multiply that by 3..it will give you a starting point. From there you can make adjustments. Another way would be to call around and check the going rate in your area!

Everemton,

I can't help you with the pricing, but I love your cake. It's so bright and colorful. Welcome to CC.

Wowee! Great cake thumbs_up.gif The 3x method MrsMissey mentioned is a great way to price your cakes if you can't get your hands on the pricing matrix.

Where I live, people pay about $50 - $70 for cakes that size with such detailed/personalized decorations....I know other places they'd pay more or less, though. It seems to be kind of relative to the type of town you live in & whether or not people can find something comparable from someone else. icon_smile.gif
