I was just reading the post about buying decorating supplies and Alicegop made a comment about wrapping the frosting in saran wrap and then putting it into you decorator bag...it's magic! I am VERY curious about this but I have been searching the past articles and can't find it. Can someone give me the link or tell me about this? Thanks! icon_smile.gif

I roll mine up in wax paper. I place a glop of icing on the wax paper and roll it into a cylinder. I put the icing on the paper about 1 inch from one end and twist the other end to close the it and cut off the extra with scissors. I just drop this into the decorating bag and it is business as usual.

Thanks for the great info. I have never heard of this technique. I have 5 cake orders for tomorrow (V-Day) and I can't wait to try it! Thanks! icon_smile.gif

Just wanted to say it's a great way to save both time and mess. I used it with saran wrap when doing my daughter's wedding cake. I was able to get all the icing colors ready the day before and stacked the "plugs" in a bowl in the fridge. Then on decorating day all I had to do was pull them out and put them in the decorating bags.
