I want to say a public thanks to my DH that is supportive to me and all of my crazy ideas. When I said I wanted to take the cake decorating classes he said that he would take them with me so that he would be able to help me whenever I was making a cake and so that if for any reason I wasn't able to make one he would. We took the three courses at a party store (like the ones at Michaels) and he enjoys helping me very much. He sits with me the entire time I am decorating a cake and we work together to make the cake look as good as possible. If I am having trouble with a particular design he will take over and usually does a great job. He is my biggest critic which sometimes drives me nuts because he sees the smallest imperfections and I always tell him " you only see that because you know what it should look like, no one else will notice" he still insists that I fix them icon_mad.gif . One of the things I love the most is that he helps me clean my bags and tips (I hate that job). He likes to go to Michaels and JoAnns with me and helps me pick out new things to add to my collection. He is also very supportive and helpful with all of my other crafts and any crazy ideas that I come up with. So I just wanted to thank him and let him know that he is appreciated and loved very much.

Thanks for reading
Jackie

That is so wonderful that he's right there with you when you do the decorating and can also do it himself!! My DH is very supportive of my cake decorating... I always ask his opinion when I feel the cake needs something else on it ... He really helps me a lot and he also points out my flaws! lol

My hubby is supportive too!! He doesn't care for the shopping, but he is starting to love the decorating. It helps when you have support and it's even better when it is the person you are sharing your life with.

Hugs
Beth

Geez, I thought I was the only one! My boyfriend loves to decorate...it's almost scary. The sight of this big, muscled 200 pound guy with a shaved head and tattoos weilding a pastry bag is too funny. He's obviously very comfortable with his masculinity! But seriously, he 's also my biggest supporter and cheer leader and I credit him for giving me the guts to start my own business. I'm lucky to have him icon_biggrin.gif

I, too, have a very supportive DH. He got me interested in decorating cakes. He decorated his brother's wedding cake long before I met him. When my eldest daughter got engaged, he helped me to decorate the cake. Then our baby daughter's first birthday cakes. Now, after I have taken all three Wilton courses, he helps when I need it. He is very mechanical, which I am not, so he helps me see things that I can't see on my own.

Aren't we all so blessed to have this type of DH?!

I,too have a very supportive DH. He helps me with all of the cleaning up...which I hate.. icon_smile.gif
He helps me deliver and set up anything that I need. He also points out anything that he thinks needs to be fixed...sometimes that's good and sometimes it's not icon_lol.gif

I also have a very supportive husband. I get into SOOO MANY different hobbies and not once has he ever complained that I'm "wasting" money from jumping from hobby to hobby. Also, when the Wilton Tent Sale comes around, he lets me spend pretty much how ever much I want. The first year I went, I ended up spending about $400 and he asked me if I needed anything else!

Boy, what great guys we have! My husband is wonderful too! He doesn't help me in the kitchen with the cake but he helps me come up with design ideas when I'm stuck. He also helps if I need advice on anything technically! He's really smart and really creative! I love him icon_biggrin.gif !

My DH is also very supportive. He always has encouraging words when something doesn't turn out the way I plan. I did airbrushing yesterday for the first time and felt terrible because I had some over spray, but he liked it anyway. He drives me 1 1/2 hrs away to buy cake decorating supplies a couple of times a month ( or more ). He even likes to look at the supplies and help pick things out.

(just kidding)

My hubby does no hands on, but yet very supportive.. He is more of the accountant with my cakes.. he is always telling me, open up your own checking account for your cakes and that way you can really see what your income is.. Not just the new shirt you bought with the 35 dollars you just made.. icon_redface.gif

I'm adding my hubby to the list.

He cuts all my cake boards and foamcoare for me. If I want something different, he builds it for me.

He made my airbrush station...and is just an all around sweetheart.

Of course plying him with the leftover cake pieces, fillings and buttercream doesn't hurt either.

I don't know Briansbaker........our significant others just may have been separated at birth! My guy looks like the devil's own, but he is truly the sweetest man. A lot of people have a hard time getting past his looks, but when they see how he treats me, they're won over. He's the good boy in bad boy's clothing! It's a rare man that can rebuild an engine, have a black belt in karate, and ice a cake! icon_lol.gif Definitely a keeper.

I want to add my guy to the list as well. He has encouraged my interest in cakes from the start when I was hesitant to take the classes, spend the money for the stuff I needed, etc... Then for my birthday, he went to Michael's and bought just about everything they had in the Wilton section!! Wrapped up each thing so I was opening and opening. He's a photography nut so he makes sure to take a picture of each of my cakes and has started a "portfolio" of pictures for me. Unfortunately, he's diabetic and really shouldn't have any of the things I bake so if I make something, it leaves the house quickly so he isn't tempted.

He keeps hinting about getting me an airbrush but I'm not anywhere near good enough for one of those yet!!

Thanks for letting me brag on my honey..........

I can't possibly leave out my DH. He is exceptionally supportive. I started baking as a hobby and am currently taking the Wilton courses. As he saw my profound interest in cooking and baking, not to mention cake decorating he decided I should quit my job and start my own business. I was very hesitant at first but my love for this quickly convinced me. As you can see from my photos I am definately not anywhere near professional, but my hubby has shelled out the $$$$$$$ for me to make my dream come true. Since my cooking skills are above my cake decorating skills we are starting a mobile food truck for sporting events and special events like rodeo. Little by little I will incorporate the cake biz. My husband however always knows how to lift my spirits when I feel terrible about one of my outcomes. Not only does he encourage me, he is my PR person. Sometimes I wish he wouldn't say anything, just because I am not as confident as he about my work. I love him lots. Can't believe I found him on the internet. LOL. Good luck to all of you and your loved ones.
