I just finished my first deer cake....and I wanted to share it with you all. I am pretty proud of it....needs improvement, but not bad for the first one. Please look at it and let me know what you all think. I am going to try to put it on here with my message, but if it dosen't work in will be in my photo album. Thanks
Debbie
I used the lamb pan and cut off the ears close to the head and then took scissors and shaped the ears and re-attached them to the head with toothpicks. I built up the nose area with icing.
Thanks for your kind comments.
Wow You did great! I would love to try this for my Dad's b-day this month but I am a big chicken!
Congratulations on the wonderful cake!
Amazing!!! You did a wonderul job Debbie!!
What part of Eastern KY do you live?? Did you see the post that I posted back to you about my quilts?? Hugs, ~Denise
Thanks Denise.........no I never saw your post...missed it somehow.
I live near Paintsville, KY.
Thanks MrsMissey...I didn't know how to put the photo on with the message...I guess it was to big.
Thanks for the nice comment on my cake.
Debbie
The little deer is so dear.
O.K. it is obviously getting late for me.
Really good job, I love the versatility of that pan, and all the 3-D pans.
Too cute! What did you make the antlers out of?
I live 10 to Louisville. Probably pretty far from u, but on the world wide web, is close enough to say small world. My husband drives to E. KY every other week to pick up step son in Winchester KY.
p.s. luvd your hallloween head cake!
Thanks everyone for the nice words.........the antlers are made from a wire clothes hanger, foil, and masking tape. I then applied buttercream frosting and placed them in the freezer until I was ready to attach them to the head.
That is so pretty! My hubby would love this. Great job! Where'd you get the instructions?
Well i saw where people had made horses, puppies, cheetahs and all kind of animals....so I decided I would try to make it into a deer....the antlers idea was on this site with the people who made the cut deer cake. I would like to make fondant antlers for the next one.
Ravun2003 I like the way you did the deer from out of your head, the ideas we can get from other people's pictures.
Goodcakefairy - Wilton Yearbook 1992 shows a little deer in the pictures for the Little Lamb Pan along with the bassinet picture, so perhaps the instructions for a deer was in an earlier yearbook ? If anyone has them perhaps they could check.
I would like to thank everyone for your kind comments about my deer cake.....the hunters loved it!
Is that your first one? It so perfect and cute.
Congratulations!!!
Nice job!
Thanks for shearing with us.
