Higuys...I'm in the middle of finishing my cake with the edible images. I would like to "enhance" them a bit...maybe trying to make them look 3-d-ish. I will handpaint and pipe over some parts with royal but I was wondering what would happen if I put piping gel on the images? Would it disintegrate them? Thanks a lot!!!

Sorry...I've never tried putting piping gel over any of my images..but I'm sure someone has and will be able to answer this for you!

It'll make them shiny icon_smile.gif The only problem I've had when doing this was that it made my image bubble...little tiny bubbles. This was on a cake that was stored at room temp overnight. I bet it wouldn't happen if you refrigerated it. I've also heard of using piping gel underneath images to attach them to fondant. Those who do that don't seem to have any problems.

Do you think the ink would run if I put piping gel on it? They came out so great and I would hate to ruin them. Thanks!!

No I don't think the ink would run. I covered an entire image with it to make it look shiny and the colors didn't run.
