How can I make dark blue I use wilton royal blue but that's not dark enough. I need it tonite so I can't go out and buy a different brand. Anyone have any hints??

While we're on the subject what brands does everyone recomend. I know I don't want to use wilton again I'm not very satisfied with them.

Thanks to all.

you can add a little bit of black to the royal blue to make it darker. I'm pretty new at coloring. I like the wilton. I think if you know how to mix color you achieve some good colors with it.

I think americolor works better...well not works, but produces a more bold or brilliant color...especially with fondant!!

I've heard that before I think I'll start trying that product out soon.

I didn't know Chefmaster made regular colors, though it makes sense. They make airbrush colors.

Americolor gets my vote too, and they have navy blue.

Well, I just looked in the Whimsical Bakehouse book. They have a color chart. It says when coloring buttercream with liquid gel colors, to make midnight blue, you mix 5 drops of blue and 4 drops of purple. That for 1/4 cup of buttercream and they state it is approximate.

Thank you so much. As far as the chefmaster that's all the cake supplies carry over here besides Wilton. If I want americolor it will have to be bought online.
