I NEED ALL FIREFIGHTERS, EMTS, AND POLICE OFFICERS. WHAT I NEED TO KNOW IS WHAT KIND OF FAVORS SHOULD WE DO FOR OUR BANQUET? IT IS FOR THE FIRE DEPT THAT I BELONG TO. IT IS IN TWO WEEKS AND WE GIRLS DON'T HAVE A CLUE AS TO WHAT TO DO. THE CENTERPIECES ARE SCARECROWS SITTING AGAINST A BOX WITH A BOTTLE OF BODY LOTION, BODY SPRAY, A "I SURVIVED THE FLOOD OF APRIL 3RD, 2005" T-SHIRT AND A CANDLE IN IT. WE DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA AS TO WHAT TO DO FOR INDIVIDUAL FAVORS. ANY AND ALL HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANK YOU TO ALL. CATHY

Hey Cathy,

What does "I survived the flood of April 3rd 2005 mean? When you say favors do you mean door prizes? If so then what about Thanksgiving deco or fall color stuff? Like a few pumpkin or apple scented candles. Little votive cups to put the candles in. Cheap Thanksgiving nick-nacks. Coffee cups with apple cider or flavored tea bags in them. You could also do the chocolate dipped spoons in a cup.

Am I anywhere close to what you had in mind or do you want FD, EMS, & Police ideas? Hope I got your mind working.. even a little icon_smile.gif

My daughter is a cop. She (and her co-workers) like anything associated with coffee... mugs with lids, "star$" gift cards, travel mugs for car, coffee thermos, individual coffee in those little tea bags, instant latte & cappuccino mixes, etc... They also all (well most) have a sweet tooth. Cops love food. Cops rarely get enough time to actually sit down and eat a full meal and therefor are always snacking plus with the uniform gear and job demands prohibits them from eating a lot a one sitting. So foods package in small serving sizes for on the go are very sought after.

I agree with the candle thing...

The firefighters and emt's here on base like just about anything, as long as its edible!

TINA ON APRIL 3RD HERE THE DELAWARE RIVER OVERFLOWED ITS BANK AND THE FIREHOUSE HAD TO BE EVAUCATED BECAUSE IT WAS FLOODED. I HAVE PICTURES FOR YOU IF YOU WANT ME TO SEND THEM. I MEAN FAVORS FOR THE TABLE, NOT DOOR PRIZES BUT ONES THAT THE PEOPLE CAN TAKE HOME. LIKE AT A WEDDING AND THEY LEAVE WITH A LITTLE GIFT. THANKS EVERYBODY FOR ALL OF YOUR SUGGESTIONS.

Maybe you could make little badge cookies and ice them according to each profession? Those are really simple!

Or you could just do badge cookies that had the station numbers on them!

Now that's a great idea Robyn!! Since they are favors to take home that would probably be the cheapest way to go. Time consuming but I bet they would have fun sitting down together & decorating the cookies! You have to do dalmations too!! Fire hydrants, boots, & helments!! Soooo awesome!!

I think I remember you telling me about the flood Cathy. My memory is bad! Yes, send me the pics! I want to see them! Did I ever send you the pics of our oil well fire? Can't remember that either icon_smile.gif It was awesome!! I took all the pics during & after. The fire was beautiful!! Thank God no one was hurt!!

YES TINA I DID SEE THE PICTURES OF THE OIL WELL FIRE. THEY TURNED OUT GREAT! I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF DOING TWO CAKES NOW SO MAYBE SOMETIME TOMORROW I WILL SEND YOU THE FLOOD PICTURES AS SOON AS I FIND THEM ON THE COMPUTER. THANK YOU ROBYN FOR YOUR HELP. I TALKED TO MY GIRLFRIENDS FROM THE FIRE DEPT AND TOLD THEM LAST NIGHT ABOUT THE COOKIES. ONE WAS THRILLED WITH THE IDEA AND THE OTHER ONE JUST KEPT ROLLING HER EYES. SHE ISN'T AMUSED WITH THE TWO OF US! SHE WILL GET OVER IT. WHAT WE CAME UP WITH WAS TO DO JUST 3 AND 9 COOKIES FOR STATION 39 AND EACH PERSON WOULD GET TO TAKE HOME TWO OR FOUR. WE HAVEN'T DECIDED YET. BY TOMORROW NIGHT WHEN IT IS OUR OFFICERS' MEETING WE WILL HAVE IT NARROWED DOWN. ON TUESDAY, WE HAVE TO BRING IT BEFORE THE DEPT AT THE MONTHLY MEETING AND THE MEMBERSHIP CAN DECIDE.

I was going to suggest cookies too. Up until about 10 months ago, my husband had been a fire fighter for 10 years. Believe me, anything I ever took to eat up there was devoured!!! We have 3 stations in our small town and I would always make enough to take to all 3 stations when he was on duty and they always appreciated it!
