Hi Guys,

I have just completed my first stacked wedding cake (four Tiers each tie 3.5 inches in height) and its super huge. The cake itself is all fruit cake as this is what the bride wanted. I inserted wilton plastice dowels in between each layer etc. My problem is that due to commitments I have to assemble the cake at the reception centre three days prior to the wedding. My question is has any one done this before I AM TOTALLY STRESSED as I don't know whether a cake so large will manage being stacked for three whole days.

Any feed back would be appreciated.

As long as it's well constructed (enough dowels) it should be fine! Don't worry about it (and be sure to post pictures!)

I would use the large white plastic dowels...they add more support than the wooden ones. Good luck...I bet that cake weighs a ton!!!!

Thanks you for your replies I feel much more at ease. I did use the thick plastic dowels and places six on the base and four on each of the other areas. I have never done a cake this big before. The wedding is this Sunday and I will post picutures. Thank you once again
