I want to make a castle cake for my daughters birthday in March.I have several pictures of castles cakes that I have saved from sites I have seen.I would like to do 3-4 tall towers and have heard that you can use a variety of objects to achieve the tower such as a pringle potatoe chip can, large plastic dowels etc...How would I ice these??? icon_cry.gif I don't want to cover the cake in fondant as fondant is not popular here and I personally don't like the taste. I probably would ice it in Royal but how would I get it do smooth??? Hmmmm Any suggestions!!! icon_confused.gif

ok, i did a castle cake..take a look..this is how i did it...

use crusting buttercream and put it on with a spatula and then smoothe it with a angled spatula...them, let them sit in the fridge 5 minutes..take them out and place a peice of wax ppr down on the counter. roll the "tube" on the wax ppr to make it super smoothe..then just let it dry upright

i hope that helps you...i wish i could explain better

if u need more help feel free to pm me
