What Are Some Unusual Tools You Use When Decorating Cakes?

I thought it would be enlightening and helpful to find out what kind of unusual tools people use when they decorate their cakes.
For instance I use a letter opener and a small cheese spreader often.
I am not exactly sure. Edge Protector that you buy to paint wall edges is the most unusal thing I have. I use it too smooth the tops and sides of cakes.
I use empty clean mustard squirt bottles, any empty-clean squirt ketchup, bottles, syrup, etc each have unique spout, I use for decorating, writing and borders
I made a chocolate basket out of a clean medicine cup, and I also used one of my kids cleaned indoor bulldozer toys to make a candy shovel.
I also bought a set of the child's magnetic alphabet letters from the dollar store to imprint letters into my icing and then just fill in with the small star tip.
Here's a recent topic with the same question - lots of interesting ideas.

I use a deviled egg holder to sort assorted chalk colors. It helps coloring gumpaste go a lot faster.
Dale you are too funny!! I love it!! I'm going to have to invest in a super soaker!!

Pump it up...blast em...blast the cake..then look innocent and say "What?"
Blast em again.
has anyone seen Dale's cakes..i don't think he gets to use that super soaker too often
I don't know if anyone else does this, but when I was taking my Wilton course, the instructor showed me a great trick...I put my icing in saran wrap, roll it up and twist the ends..Then you clip one end and slip it into you piping bag (open end down)....It makes clean up so much easier..You can do it with parchment also....I do it all the time now.
I use a Super Soaker.
For those people whose cakes look better than mine.
OMG, I'm still laughing .. thanks, I need to invest in one of those LOL
Cindy, I do that too with the saran wrap. I'm pretty sure I learned it on this forum![/img]
