A not-so-sweet white frosting alternative that is great for all cakes and decorating needs. This may be tinted with food color if you like.
Jo Ann’s Frosting
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 In a large bowl, beat shortening and sugar together until smooth. slowly mix in milk, vanilla and almond extract. Beat on high speed of an electric mixer for 5 to 7 minutes, scraping often, until mixture is light and fluffy.
