Homemade Eggless Pudding

This pudding goes great with the cream puff dessert (substitute this for the packaged pudding if you have some extra time), or eat it plain while still warm! Bake a yellow cake, break it up in a trifle bowl and pour this pudding on top. Serve warm with dallops of whipped cream on top!!!

Homemade Eggless Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. baking cocoa or dark (Dutch) cocoa – both are great!
  • 1/4 c. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. milk
  • 2 TBSP butter or margarine
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In heavy saucepan, combine the sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add milk and stir. Bring to a boil over medium heat; boil and stir for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in butter and vanilla. Spoon into individual serving dishes.
