Cinnamon Roll cake

I got this idea when I spotted a cinnamon filling in the King Arthur Flour catalog. I’m not a culinary baker, but I’ll bet you can come up with your own cinnamon filling

Cinnamon Roll cake

Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 1 vanilla cake mix (I used BC)
  • 1 pkg cheesecake pudding mix
  • 1 c flour
  • 1 c powdered sugar
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 2/3 c Coffee Mate cinnamon bun coffee creamer (or vanilla)2/3 c water
  • 4 egg whites
  • 2 T oil
  • 2 t vanilla extract or 1 dram of LoRann cheesecake flavoring
  • 1 c mini-cinnamon chips ( KingArthurFlour.com )

  • Filling:

  • 1 1/2 c Baker’s Cinnamon Filling ( KingArthurFlour.com )

  • Combine everything (except the filling ingredients

Instructions

  1. (I apologize for not being very detailed!)
  2. Combine cake ingredients; stir in cinnamon chips.
  3. Mix filling with 1/4 c + 2 T water and spoon in to a piping bag.
  4. Spread a little batter on bottom of pan; squeeze filling over batter in rings (like a target). Spread more batter over filling.
  5. For torting, I recommend filling the pans less than 1/2 full so that you have 1″ cakes. That way the filling stays intact as opposed to slicing a 2″ cake in half.

i have the other copy where it also has 3 cinnamon roll ypgurts or 2 cups of sour cream. did you change it. now i don't know which recipe to use.

From their site:

* 3/4 cup Baker's Cinnamon Filling* * 3 tablespoons water

* *Or substitute 5 tablespoons butter, 3/4 cup brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon for the Baker's Cinnamon Filling mix and water.

I have my cinnamon chips coming in the mail. Are you sure it's powdered sugar, not granulated? Thanks!

I just made this cake last night except I found ingrediants through a Forum she posted on here. These are the ingrediants I used. The only problem is that I was having trouble getting it to separate from the pans. IDK?????? But it tastes sinful :)

2 white cake mixes 2 cups flour 1 cup granulated sugar 1 cup powdered sugar 1 1/2 tsp salt 1 1/3 cups Cinnamon Bun creamer 1 1/3 cups water 3 Cinnamon Roll yogurts (or 2 c sour cream) 8 egg whites or 6 whole eggs 1/4 cup oil 4 tsp vanilla *stir in 1 cup mini-cinnamon chips. *Or add 1 tsp cinnamon.

Swirl the batter with: 4 T butter, melted 2/3 c brown sugar 5 t cinnamon ...but I prefer to use the filling mix by King Arthur Flour.
