Cream Puff Cake

I don’t remember where my mom got this recipe, but she makes it for every family get together. It is very popular in my family.

Cream Puff Cake

Ingredients

  • Crust
  • 1 c. water

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • ¼ t. salt
  • 4 eggs
  • Filling

  • 1 4.6 oz box Cook & Serve vanilla pudding

  • 2-½ c. at least 2% milk
  • ½ c. half & half
  • Topping

  • 12 oz Cool Whip

  • chocolate syrup (my mom uses Smuckers Magic Shell)

Instructions

  1. Crust
  2. Boil water and butter.
  3. Add flour and salt.
  4. Stir till dough forms a ball.
  5. Let cool slightly.
  6. Add eggs one at a time, beat after each one.
  7. Spread evenly in a 9×13 inch pan.
  8. Bake 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
  9. Let cool completely.
  10. Filling
  11. Follow directions on box.
  12. Let chill in fridge.
  13. Assemble
  14. Pudding on crust
  15. Cover with Cool Whip
  16. Decorate with chocolate syrup
  17. Serve
