Puertorican Shortbread Cookies

This are cookies from my island Puerto Rico, they are called " Mantecaditos" with Guava in the center . They taste really good ..saben deliciosos
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup - Vegetable Shortening ( Manteca Vegetal )
- 1/2 cup (1 stick ) - Butter ( Mantequilla )
- 1 cup - Sugar ( Azúcar )
- 2 cups - All P. Flour ( Harina Todo Uso )
- 1 tsp - Vanilla or Almond Extract ( Extracto de Vainilla o Almendra )
- Pinch - Baking Powder ( Pisca de B. Powder )
- 1 Egg Yolk ( Yema)
- Food Coloring ( Colorante Para Comida)
Directions:
Preheat Oven to 325 F* . In a electric mixer with the paddle attachment cream together Shortening and Butter ( if you don't have it you could do it by hand), when well combined add Sugar ( not all at once ). When sugar is combined add the yolk and the extract. Now by hand add the flour and B. Powder little by little and fold it . When well combined you could add color if you like . Make small balls and flat them a little bit , ( you could add sprinkles or put a piece of guava in the middle . Put them on Parchment paper and Bake for 20-25 min. Let them cool completely before serving and ...ENJOY !!!!!
En una batidora eléctrica con el accesorio de paleta acremar juntos la manteca y mantequilla (si no lo tiene podría hacerlo a mano), cuando se combinen bien añadir azúcar (poco a poco). Cuando se combine el azúcar, añadir la yema de huevo y el extracto. Ahora a mano añadir la harina y polvo de hornear poco a poco y mexclar de forma envolvente. Cuando se combinan bien podría agregar color si lo desea. Hacer bolas pequeñas y aplanarlas un poco, (podría agregar chispitas o poner un trozo de guayaba en el medio. Póngalos sobre papel sulfurizado y hornear durante 20-25 minutos. Dejan enfriar completamente antes de servir y...¡ DISFRUTE!
