Awesome Red Velvet Cake Ingredients 1 1/2 cups Wesson oil1 1/2 cups sugar2 1/2 cups self- rising flour2 eggs1 cup buttermilk1 tsp. baking soda1 tsp. vanilla1 tsp. vinegar (just white vinegar)1 oz. red food coloringFrosting1 stick butter or margarine ( I usually use butter)1 8 oz. cream cheese1 box confectioner sugar1 tsp. vanilla Instructions Mix sugar, oil and eggs with mixer. Add dry ingredients; Add coloring, milk, vanilla and vinegar (I put all these wet ingredients together and alternate pouring dry ingredients and this mixture as it is mixing) Mix well. Grease and flour 3 cakes pans. Makes 3 layers. Bake 325 degrees for about 25-30 minutes or until inserted toothpick isn’t gooey. Frosting: Allow butter and cream cheese to soften. Blend until creamy. Add conf. sugar and vanilla and beat until fluffy. Frost.
