After playing around with many scratch recipes, I found the perfect cake for my daughter’s wedding with this variation of CC’s Cake Mix extender recipe.
Wedding Orange Cake
- 1 box of yellow cake mix, along with the ingredients listed on the box, but substitute 2/3 cup of the water needed with orange juice.
1 egg, 1/2 tsp of salt, zest of 1 small to med. grapefruit, 1 cup all purpose flour, 1 cup white granulated sugar, 1 cup sour cream, and 1 tsp LorAnn orange oil.
- Mix cake mix ingredients per directions.
- Combine above with other ingredients, fold into 3 preprared 9″ pans and bake in preheated oven at 325 degrees.
