Baking chocolate chip cookies in a skillet in fun and novel. These cookies have everything you love in a chocolate chip cookie, crisp edges, gooey chocolate and a warm soft center.
Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
8 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup granulated white sugar
1 large egg
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a 9-inch skillet with cooking spray. Combine flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda and salt and set aside.
Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, scraping the bowl as necessary.
Add dry mixture to butter mixture.
Fold in chocolate chips, mix until well combined.
put dough in prepared skillet and press to flatten.
Bake 25 minutes, or until edges are brown and center is set.
Cool and serve in wedges.
