Cake Central user trixieleigh developed a moist chocolate bundt cake with a subtle Guinness flavor using a doctored box mix method. Check out her recipe here, which would be amazing served with our chocolate stout sauce. However, you could pair this sauce with ice cream or any cake you like.
Chocolate Stout Sauce
2 cup Guinness or other Irish stout
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup cocoa powder
1 cup boiling water
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
Combine beer and sugar in a sauce pot and bring to a simmer, reduce over low heat until mixture is reduced by half, stirring occasionally.
Whisk cocoa powder with boiling water into a smooth paste.
Combine beer and cocoa mixtures until smooth. Add salt and set aside to cool slightly.
Pour warm sauce over cooled bundt cake.
