This has always been a family favorite. Very rich!
1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease one 9×13 inch baking pan.
2 Bring water to a boil. Pour over chopped dates and baking soda. Let stand until cool. Stir in the sugar, flour, mayonnaise, and salt. Mix until just combined. Pour batter into prepared pan.
3 Mix the brown sugar, chopped nuts, and chocolate chips together. Sprinkle over top of batter.
4 Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 40 to 45 minutes.
