With Halloween just around the corner, you might be thinking of incorporating fake blood into your ghoulish goodies. Here is a simple recipe using ingredients already found in your kitchen, but be warned, this blood may be fake but it will stain!
Decorator’s Fake Blood
1 cup light corn syrup
gel food coloring, red
gel food coloring, blue
1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
2 to 4 tablespoons cornstarch, optional
ADD red gel coloring a few drops at a time to corn syrup in a small stain-proof bowl.
STIR in chocolate syrup to achieve a deep dark red color.
IF desired, add a single drop of blue so blood isn’t too pink.
SPLATTER or drip onto cake or other spooky goodies.
THICKER blood can be achieved by mixing in cornstarch.
Yum! Can't wait to try it!
any idea if I can substitute the red color with beet juice? Or anything natural?
