Sour Cream Spice Cake

This cake is nice and spicy. The brown sugar gives it a wonderful flavor and a lovely dark color.

Sour Cream Spice Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 yellow box cake mix
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup (16 oz.) sour cream
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 ½ tsp. ginger
  • 1 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 3 tsp. real vanilla
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

  1. Stir all dry ingredients together with a wire whisk. Add the remaining ingredients and beat on a low speed for 2 minutes. Bake at 325 for about 1 hour. Check after 50 minutes as ovens tend to be a little different.
  2. I also mixed about 2 tsp of cinnamon into my BCF. The effect was really pretty and the taste was great.
