My daughter loves to make frosted sugar cookies for the little tikes she works with at the elementary school and for her friends and teachers. So with trial and error I came up with this recipe. It holds up well and it does crust up nicely to pack the cookies for travel.
You should be able to frost at least 120 (2/3 inch) round cookies with this recipe.
Amount Ingredient 1 cup butter flavored shortening 1 cup regular shortening 1/2 cup milk 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 pounds confectioners sugar
Cream shortenings together in large mixing bowl.
Gradually add in confectioners sugar until smooth.
Next add in the milk and vanilla and mix for approximately 5 minutes. Frost cooled cookies.
