Morgan's Spiced Rum Cake

I wanted my husband Morgan’s pirate themed birthday cake to have rum in it (of course). But I also had a lot of cooking and stuff to do for the party so I wanted to use a cake mix. So I made this up and it tasted pretty good – got lots of compliments!

Morgan’s Spiced Rum Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 package of yellow cake mix prepared according to directions
  • 2 Tablespoons Rum flavoured extract (more or less to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons Pumpkin Pie spice

Instructions

  1. Make the cake batter as per the package directions.
  1. Add Rum flavor and pumpkin pie spice.
  1. It’s stupidly easy – but the pumpkin pie spice really does give it the flavour or spiced rum!
  1. It had a pretty strong rum flavour, so you could cut the rum flavouring a bit to your taste.
