Cream cheese cake
This recipe was requested through a comment made on one of my cake photos here in this site. It is easy to deal with and delicious.
Cream cheese cake
Ingredients
- 2 sticks of butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 6 eggs (separated)
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 4 tsp. baking powder
Instructions
- Beat together butter and sugar. Add the egg yolks one at a time allowing them to mix well. Add the vanilla and then the flour alternating with the cheese. Start with flour and end with flour.
- Separately, beat the egg whites until they are stiff. Add them to the previous mix.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

Hi! I have a question regarding the procedure with the flour and the cream cheese. Usually I mix the flour with the wet ingredients. Here , you mix the flour with the cream cheese. If there is any specific reason to do it this way? Thanks....
