Amount Ingredient 1/2 cup butter-flavored vegetable shortening 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar 2 eggs 2 tablespoons milk 1 tablespoon molasses 1 teaspoon real vanilla extract 1 teaspoon coconut flavoring 2-3/4 cups flour 1/2 cup chocolate malted milk powder 1 teaspoon salt 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 2 cups chocolate-covered malt balls 2 cups flaked coconut
Into a large mixing bowl place the shortening, brown sugar and eggs. Beat until creamy. Add milk, molasses, vanilla and coconut flavoring. Mix until combined. Sift together flour, malt powder, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Add this to the creamed mixture and beat well. Place the malt balls into a food processor and process until the balls are about pea-sized. Add this to the above mixture also and beat until combined. Bake in a 325 degree oven for about 10-12 minutes. Do not overbake. Makes approximately 3 dozen cookies. When they have cooled, place them in an airtight container to keep them nice and chewy…
