Delicious Hershey's Chocolate Frosting

This is something that I came up with on my own after experimenting with different chocolate frosting recipes. Other chocolate frosting recipes just didn’t taste all that great to me, so that’s why I came up with this one. I use this to frost, fill, and decorate a 3 layer 9-inch round cake. You can reduce to half if you are frosting a smaller cake.

Ingredients

  • 4 Sticks Unsalted Butter
  • 6 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • One 12oz bag of Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Chips
  • Heavy Whipping Cream-as needed

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, heat chocolate in the microwave, 30 seconds at a time, stirring each time until melted. Set aside to cool. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time making sure it is incorporated after each addition. Add vanilla. Add melted chocolate slowly as it is mixing. Add heavy whipping cream very slowly until you get the desired constancy.

This sounds fabulous. I am like you and don't like typical chocolate recipe's. I've added cocoa to my buttercream recipe but still not that thrilled with it all. Thanks so much for sharing can't wait to try it.
