Ruthie's Easy Red Velvet

I love the white chocolate pudding mix with red velvet. So I combined it with the WASC method and It is wonderful! I like how the red velvet cake mix makes it cheaper, since you don’t have to buy the dye. I am a penny pincher, but love things that taste expensive! The best frosting to pair this with is Swiss Meringue Buttercream. It Is TO DIE FOR!!

Ingredients

  • 2 Boxes Duncan Hines Red Velvet cake mix
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1-1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 small box White Chocolate Pudding Mix
  • 2-2/3 cup Water
  • 1/3 cup Oil
  • 2 Tbsp. Vanilla
  • 2 cups (16 oz.) Sour Cream
  • 6 Eggs

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients until combined, then mix on med. for 2 min. Bake at 350 till toothpick comes out clean.

How many cups of batter does this make or what size pans did you use? And would this work with a cream cheese frosting?

I'm wondering about only using 1/3 cup of oil. Thinking it should be 2/3...... I guess I'll find out if in about 55 minutes. Also wondered the 2 Tbsp of vanilla . I guess I've doctored this recipe a bit also....ha
