What size container of pink lemonade and what size can of condensed milk?
Both are the small cans. Since you only need a 1/2 can of pink lemonade, I just made a 1/2 version of the drink to keep in the fridge...no need to waste it.
I can't get the frosting to thicken up. It is like soup and I didn't even use a full 1/2 can of the small can of lemonade. What am I doing wrong?
I even tried whipping it for a very long time and nothing, just got worse and worse. I even tried putting it in the fridge for a while and in the freezer, nothing helped.
I love this recipe and most importantly everyone at my husband's work loves it too!!! It's very tasty and perfect for summertime. I keep getting more requests to make it!
Why have a recipe that includes a cake box mix? I looked forward to noting the pink lemonade recipe until it said about cake box mix? :( I've seen this a lot in American recipes it doesn't make sense to us in the UK, we make everything from scratch. Thanks anyway. X
I agree with you Moonstone, why spoil a lovely cake with " cake box mix."

Ugh...there is already a Pink Lemonade boxed cake mix...I make all my cakes from scratch...it's just as easy to add lemonade to that...sorry, but I think I'll stick with mine ;)

I agree! Whether from scratch or box is a preference. I've found delicious recipes for both, but when I want to be sure everything turns out perfect, I have to admit, my favorite recipes are "doctored up" box mixes. And they are delicious. Thanks for the recipe! (For those who won't use a mix the polite thing to do is just quietly pass over this recipe & let the rest of us enjoy it.)
OMG. I am shocked to see the negative response given towards a fellow baker. I wonder how you would take criticism from someone who didn't like scratch cakes? The nerve of you. Have you ever considered that some people start off with box cakes then change to scratch? This is how i started my 5 year old granddaughter who is now 12 and baking cakes from scratch. I believe negative opinions should be kept off this forum. She never said this was a challenge cake or scratch cake. Her intentions were to show a nice, easy, fun recipe to make.
Hmmmm I've read it all, though i still prefer things from scratch"and i mean all food pastries" a quick fix snack is not a bad thing. Around the world their are critics, some we dont want to cross, these things build up a person or crush them dont allow the latter. Though we state or preferences be considerate of others always. Sometimes bakers want a quick and easy cake that tastes good. Not everyone has time to make a cake from scratch and this is a good way for beginners to start.
UK people are rude indeed. They have big attitudes too. It's just ashame that they think they are better than something they don't understand.
My daughter's favorite drink is raspberry lemonade. I bet this cake might be good with raspberry filling.
